Banks in the UAE read this kind of power of attorney closely, because they are releasing funds or giving access to money that is not the agent’s own. A document that says only “banking matters” in general terms is routinely rejected. The bank’s own name and the account number have to appear in the document. The document is usually expected to be recent, and each bank sets its own limit on how old it can be. It names “banking matters” generally instead of the bank and account. It is older than the bank’s own policy accepts. Or the transaction the agent is asking for is not clearly covered by the authority written into the document.
