They do not, and the difference decides what your document still needs. ### Notarised A person signs in front of the notary, who confirms who they are and attests to the signing. What is certified is the signing itself, not the truth of what the document says. ### Attested Confirms that a document or signature is genuine, so that another authority will accept it. Not the same word, and not the same act, as notarisation. ### Legalised The chain of confirmations a document needs before a foreign country will rely on it, usually a ministry and a diplomatic mission.
