Company power of attorney

What to send, and in what format

A PDF or a clear photograph
Either works. A photograph is fine as long as every line of text is readable and nothing is cropped out of frame.

One enquiry per document
If you have more than one, send them separately or list them clearly, so each one gets its own reading and its own answer.

The draft as it stands, even if incomplete
A half finished draft still tells us the instrument and the likely requirements. We flag the gaps rather than waiting for a finished version.

The language it is currently in
English or Arabic, either is fine to send. We tell you if the receiving party will need both.

Names and roles written in the document are enough for the first reading. Identity is checked in person, at the point of engagement.

Nothing about sending a draft is automatic. Here is what actually happens to it once it reaches us.

Every draft is read by someone who handles this instrument regularly, not by whoever happens to be free.

What we will not answer by message
Whether your specific document will be accepted depends on reading it, so a description alone gets a general answer, not a final one. We also do not confirm identity, take payment, or give a legal opinion outside document drafting over WhatsApp, email or phone; those need the document itself, or a conversation.
Privacy of what you send us
A draft sent to us is read only by the person handling your enquiry. We do not publish it, and we do not share it with a third party without your instruction.
If you cannot come to us
Plenty of what we do happens before anyone is in the same room. Send the draft on WhatsApp or by email and we read it the same working day: which instrument it is, whether it will be accepted as drafted, and the cost split between our fee and the Dubai Courts fee. If a director or shareholder is abroad, tell us where, and we set out whether a power of attorney granted in advance solves it, or whether the notary will require that person in person. Once the text is approved, only the signing itself needs anyone in the room, and even then we handle the appointment, the paperwork and what happens after it. Distance changes how the file starts. It does not change what we deliver.
Once the text is approved and everyone who needs to sign can attend, this is the order the appointment follows.

You arrive with the originals
Passport and Emirates ID, plus anything the document refers to. Copies are not accepted for identity verification.

We check the file is complete
The approved text against the originals, before anyone is called in.

The notary carries out the verification
Identity is checked and the signing is witnessed. The notarial act is the notary’s, not ours.

You leave with the notarised document
Digital and physical delivery, arranged before you sit down.
Getting ready for the appointment

Original identity documents for everyone signing
Passport and Emirates ID. Copies are not accepted for identity verification before the notary.

The instrument, as approved
We bring the approved text. You bring anything it refers to.

The trade licence and memorandum, for anything corporate
With every amendment. Bringing the memorandum without its amendments is the most common gap on the day.

A passport copy of anyone receiving authority under a power of attorney
The attorney has to be identified precisely, even if not present.

Payment for our fee and the Dubai Courts fee
Both are confirmed with you before the appointment, so nothing is unexpected at the counter.

A two minute call first
It is what stops a wasted trip, and lets us have the right person and paperwork ready.

What you hear back
Send the draft and you have an answer inside the same working day: the instrument it actually is, whether it will be accepted as drafted by the bank, registry or counterparty you are dealing with, the fee split between our work and the Dubai Courts fee, and exactly who has to attend and with what. If something in the draft would get it refused, we say so before you book anything, not after. Nothing in that first answer commits you to anything. If the timing does not work, or the instrument is not what you need, you have lost nothing but the time it took to send it.

Do I need an appointment?
Call or message first. It lets us have the right person and the right paperwork ready, and it stops a wasted trip.
Can you tell me the price over the phone?
Yes, once we know the document. Our fees are published; the Dubai Courts fee depends on the instrument, and we tell you both before work starts.
Do you work weekends?
Weekend availability varies by day.
Is there a charge for asking a question?
No. The first conversation, and the first reading of a draft, are not billable.
Can I send a document on someone else’s behalf?
Yes, describe the situation when you send it. We still confirm identity with the actual signatory in person before the appointment.
What if I am not sure which instrument I need?
Describe the outcome you need, not the document name. Working out the right instrument is part of the free reading.
