What a home visit notary service is
A home visit is our in-house notary public attending your residence to witness a signing, rather than you travelling to Business Bay. It is built around family situations: a parent who can no longer travel easily, a relative recovering at home, or a family signing a will, a power of attorney or an estate document together, in one room, at one time. The notary carries out the same identity and capacity checks used at the office, read through in a familiar setting. Where someone’s capacity to understand and sign is in question, we say so honestly rather than proceed.
Who a home visit suits
A family signing together
Several relatives on a will or estate document, in one visit.
A signatory recovering from illness
Someone not yet well enough to travel to an office.
A household with young children
Parents who need a document signed without arranging childcare.
What we check before a home visit
01
Capacity to understand and sign
That the signatory understands the document and is signing freely.
02
Every relative’s identity
Passport or Emirates ID for each person signing, checked in person.
03
The final document
A will, power of attorney or estate document, read through in full first.
04
A quiet room
Somewhere in the home to read through and sign without interruption.
05
Who else must attend
A witness, an interpreter, or another family member, arranged before the day.
Getting the scope right
A home visit works well for a family signing or a relative who cannot travel. It is not the right route where a signatory’s capacity is genuinely in doubt, or where a document needs input from several parties who are not part of the household. Tell us honestly about the person signing and we tell you whether a home visit fits, or whether the document needs a different route first.

What it costs
| Service | Fee | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Home visit notary | Set by the document, not the visit | Will AED 4,000, power of attorney from AED 1,500, affidavit AED 600 |
| Drafting the document | We quote after reading it |
A home visit is a way of signing, not a separate instrument. Fees may vary with the document; we confirm the figure before you sign. See all fees.

Why families choose a home visit
A will, a power of attorney or an estate document often needs more than one signature, and more than one conversation. Signing at home lets a family go through the document together, ask questions as they come up, and avoid moving a relative who is unwell or simply finds travel tiring.
- Several relatives can sign in one visit
- A relative who cannot travel is not left out
- Questions are answered in the room, not over the phone
Who attends, and what we check
The signatory, and any relative also signing
A witness, where the document needs one
Passport or Emirates ID for each person
The final document, read through before signing
The signatory’s capacity to understand and sign
A quiet space in the home for the signing
Where a home visit does not go ahead
We do not proceed where a signatory does not appear to understand the document or is not signing freely, where identity cannot be confirmed, or where a relative who should take part is not present. A home visit is personal, but the checks are the same as the office, and we do not relax them because the setting is familiar.
Common problems, and the fix
01
A relative is unwell on the day
Fix: tell us in advance, we plan the visit for a time that suits them.
02
The family disagrees about the document
Fix: resolve this before the visit, the notary cannot settle a family disagreement.
03
Capacity to sign is in question
Fix: we raise this honestly, and may ask for a doctor’s note before proceeding.
04
Not every relative who should sign is present
Fix: confirm attendance for everyone named on the document before booking.
After your home visit
01
You receive the notarised document
On the spot, or arranged for delivery afterwards.
02
You file it where it is needed
A bank, a registry, or kept with the family’s papers.
03
We keep a record
The visit and the notarisation are recorded with your file.
04
You keep the original safely
Ask us about certified copies for more than one relative.

If the document is a will or estate matter
A home visit is common for a will or an estate document, where the people involved want to be together for the signing.

Tell us about your family’s situation. We confirm the visit and the fee before we travel.
Documents we notarise are presented to authorities, free zones and banks across the UAE.
