What MOA attestation is, and is not
MOA attestation confirms your memorandum of association as it already stands, for a bank, a government department or another authority that has asked for it. It is not the same as drafting a memorandum for a new company, and it is not the same as an amendment that changes a clause, or an annulment that ends the memorandum when a company closes. If your memorandum has been amended since it was first signed, we attest it together with every addendum, because the current version of the company is the original memorandum read alongside all of them. Tell us why the memorandum is being asked for and we confirm what the attestation covers. We quote after reading the document.
When an MOA attestation is needed
Opening or reviewing a bank account
A bank asking for a certified memorandum before it opens or reviews an account.
A government or free zone submission
A licence renewal or a government file that asks for the memorandum.
A counterparty abroad
A supplier or partner abroad confirming who they are dealing with.
What we check before attesting
01
The original memorandum
Read in full, as first signed.
02
Every addendum since
Each amendment, in the order it was signed.
03
The company name and licence
Matching the current trade licence exactly.
04
Who is requesting the attestation
An owner, a manager, or an authorised representative.
05
What the memorandum is being attested for
A bank, a government department, or a party abroad.
Getting the scope right
An attested memorandum that leaves out a later amendment is worse than none, because it tells the bank or authority something that is no longer true. Before we attest, we ask whether the memorandum has been amended, and if so we attest the full set, the original and every addendum, together. If you are not certain whether an amendment exists, tell us and we check.

What to bring
The memorandum, every addendum since it was signed, the current trade licence, and passport or Emirates ID.
Attestation
MOA attestation
Confirms the memorandum as it already stands.
Amendment
MOA amendment
Changes one part of the memorandum.

What decides whether the attestation is accepted
A bank or authority checks that the attested memorandum is read together with every addendum, that the company name matches the licence exactly, and that nothing in the set is missing. A memorandum attested without its addenda is often sent back once the gap is noticed.
- Every addendum is attested alongside the original
- The company name and legal form match the licence
- The set is dated and in the right order
Who attends, and what we check
An owner, manager or authorised representative
Passport or Emirates ID
The memorandum and every addendum
The current trade licence
Why the attestation is needed
Where an MOA attestation gets refused
We cannot attest a memorandum where an addendum is missing from the set, because the memorandum alone no longer reflects the company. We cannot attest it where the company name differs from the current trade licence. If you are not sure whether every addendum has been signed, tell us before the visit, not after.
Common problems, and the fix
01
An addendum is missing
Fix: locate it, or sign it, before the attestation.
02
The company name differs from the licence
Fix: match the memorandum wording to the licence exactly.
03
It is unclear which authority needs the attestation
Fix: tell us who asked, we confirm what they need.
04
The memorandum was never updated after a change
Fix: see MOA amendment to record the change first.
After attestation
01
Submit it
Send the attested memorandum to the bank or authority that asked for it.
02
Keep the set together
Keep the memorandum, every addendum and the attestation together.
03
Add further attestation if needed
Some uses abroad need an embassy or ministry step after ours.
04
Update the set after any later change
A later amendment is attested as a new addendum to the same set.

If the memorandum is changing, not just being confirmed
Attestation confirms the memorandum as it stands. If something about the company is actually changing, that needs an amendment, or an annulment if the company is closing.

Send your memorandum and every addendum. We check the set before we attest it.
Documents we notarise are presented to authorities, free zones and banks across the UAE.

Questions about MOA attestation
Is MOA attestation the same as an MOA amendment?
No. Attestation confirms the memorandum as it stands. An amendment changes it.
Do you attest the memorandum with its addenda, or just the original?
Together, as a set. An attestation without the addenda does not reflect the company as it stands.
How much does MOA attestation cost?
We quote after reading the memorandum and the addenda.
Why would a bank ask for this?
Usually to open or review an account, or to confirm the current ownership and management.
Can a manager request the attestation alone?
Where the manager is authorised to act for the company, yes.
Does a free zone company use the same route?
Some free zones handle this through their own registry, tell us the zone and we confirm the route.
